S.M.Z.D.P.Y. 10 Years Collection Series

In 2009, Pigeon House Production was founded by Ng Kang Kee, Tan Chee Wei and Goh Say Kiat. Pigeon House Production commits itself to the cause of inculcating positive life values to its audience, as well as to foster empathy in teenagers and young adults through platforms of creative media. After nearly 2 years of preparation, the “S.M.Z.D.P.Y. - Friends in Life” platform was born.


     In April of the same year, the “SMZDPY - Friends in Life” album was released. The album was produced by Ng Kang Kee, Wilson Tan and Zennon Goh. This album also features several well-known musicians, including guitarist Jamie Wilson, drummers Gary Gideon and Martin Ngim, bassists Khoon and Gary Lao, and Lydia Chew on harmony. The songs adopted a simple and clean musical style, with the overall production emphasising clarity in the arrangements.


     In 2015, the original production team got together once again to produce “SMZDPY 2.0 - Smile”. Co-produced by Ng Kang Kee and Wilson Tan, the album features original lyrical and musical compositions from Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

WHAT'S EVEN MORE REMARKABLE IS THAT THESE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE ALSO EMBARKING ON A JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY...

The songs from the albums have been widely performed throughout Singapore and Malaysia in the past decade, inspiring many other youths to join in and volunteer with the production team. Various committees were introduced and the team started to host concerts and music composition camps in collaboration with countless organisations in Singapore and Malaysia. The passion of this group of youths drove them to go the extra mile in the organisation of every event. They have since continued to impress with their proactiveness in taking further responsibilities, while embarking on their journey of self-discovery.


     In the milestone of our 10th anniversary, we compiled the 20 songs from our past 2 albums into a series of 7 mini-albums. With the generous support of Fo Guang Shan, we have also introduced a new song, “Rise To The Challenge” by Master Hsing Yun. Let this new series of mini-albums be stepping stones for you to continue accompanying us on our journey.
